The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic
Surgery at Loyola University Health System has an immediate opening for a Board
Certified/Board Eligible Plastic Reconstructive surgeon at the Assistant or
Associate Professor level with expertise in microsurgery with an emphasis on
breast, lower extremity, and lymphedema reconstruction. Join a growing faculty and a collaborative working
environment. A microsurgical
fellowship is preferred. The preferred candidate will be active academically and
have the opportunity to pursue clinical research interests.
The Division has a main clinical base at Loyola University
Medical Center, with Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and the Hines VA Hospital also
attended by the group. Loyola Medicine is a quaternary care system based in the
western suburbs of Chicago that includes Loyola University Medical Center
(LUMC) in Maywood, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital (GMH) in Melrose Park, MacNeal
Hospital in Berwyn and convenient outpatient locations offering primary and
specialty care services from 1,772 physicians throughout Cook, Will and DuPage
counties.
LUMC, located 11 miles west of downtown Chicago, is a
547-licensed-bed hospital that includes the William G. and Mary A. Ryan Center
for Heart & Vascular Medicine, a Level 1 trauma center, Illinois's largest
burn center and a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. Loyola’s IAC
accredited Vascular noninvasive lab performs over 12,000 studies annually at 5
sites. The medical center campus is also
home to Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University
Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing and the Loyola Center for Fitness.
GMH is a 247-licensed-bed community hospital located 2.5 miles north of LUMC.
MacNeal Hospital is a 374-bed teaching hospital with advanced inpatient and
outpatient medical and surgical services, advanced diagnostics and treatments
in a convenient community setting located less than 5 miles from LUMC. Loyola
Medicine is a member of Trinity Health, one of the nation’s largest health
systems with 94 hospitals in 22 states.
