The UTMB Division of Plastic Surgery - Microsurgery is seeking a faculty candidate with an interest in microsurgery. Fellowship training in microsurgery is required. Candidates at entry and mid-career levels of experience will be considered, and academic appointment is available for appropriately experienced candidates from Assistant through Associate Professor positions. This is a full-time, salaried academic position, with a strong incentive component. The patient mix is varied with trauma, infection, and cancer reconstructive needs. Our outpatient facilities include clinics and hospitals off-island, thus broadening our clinical base. The successful applicant will walk into a mature, robust breast reconstructive practice with internal and external referrals and opportunities for additional patients with general reconstructive and breast and body aesthetic needs. Protected research time can be made available to the successful candidate with a strong background and interest in research, outcomes, and/or education.  Candidate Requirements:

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility.
  • Completion of a Microsurgery Fellowship.
  • A strong commitment to patient care, medical student, and resident education.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to obtain an unrestricted state of Texas Medical License.
